Celebrating a Movie Re-Release
The 20th anniversary of the Natural Born Killers is a one-night event to celebrate the iconic movie. The movie attracted a range of audiences from teenagers to middle-aged adults.
Due to the artistic nature of the movie, they wanted to present a minimalist branding concept that kept true to the original tone of the film. We began the process with the re-brand strategy and communication strategy. We then developed the identity system to reach every aspect of the event.
Color Choices
The color choices were chosen from the multitude of colors used within the movie. Multiple scenes are overlayed with greens and reds so they were our original choices for colors.
We determined the yellow background and red heart combo to be the most effective. Although, the dynamic and bright colors show the intensity that is felt throughout the film.
Web Development
We determined that the web landing pages needed to be modern and versatile but remain cohesive with the logo and posters. We utilized the same yellow throughout the site, as well as red for the background with a double overlayed image from the movie. The website is fully responsive so that it is viewed exactly the same whether on a mobile device or a high-definition TV.
Finding The Right Font
We decided on a font that showed the level of mental instability that is expressed in the movie. The first font we chose is rugged and uneven much like the character’s lifestyle in the movie. The various widths in the down strokes appear almost childish as well as crazy. We achieved that exact look.
The second font needed to be condensed and thin with a large height. It makes a perfect font for adding directors and actors to any movie poster.
